Provide essential support for your family member.

The family can either be a significant source of support or a stumbling block to a loved one struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Addiction impacts the entire family, and successful recovery requires helping both the individual and the family as a whole.

The purpose of the family program is to bring the family and the addict together to work towards a common goal of recovery for all parties.

Men of Nehemiah Families is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization.

family Christian addiction recovery
  • Addiction is a family disease

  • After many years of erosion of family relationships, a reset is needed

  • When both the family and MON client receive counseling, the success of recovery being maintained is higher

  • New ways of communicating and setting boundaries within families are critical in order to break the old patterns that could lead to relapse

Why involve families in the addiction recovery process?

Our Family Programs

All of our family programs are designed to mend relationships within families and give your loved one the support needed to overcome addiction.

Christian addiction treatment family meeting

MON Families Recovery Group is a co-ed support group offered to family members with a loved one who is struggling with addiction.  We gather VIRTUALLY on Thursdays from 12-1pm to have a short education concerning the 12 steps and then to share what God is teaching us about ourselves in the midst of the pain of this disease. We are solution-focused rather than problem-based. Our goal is to leave this meeting encouraged as we hear from each other how God is walking with us on this journey.  If you have any questions, please email Lynn Sheehan at lsheehan@themenofnehemiah.org.

MON Family Recovery Meeting

family visitation Christian addiction treatment center

This is a time for family members to gather to visit, bring food, and fellowship with their loved one in the program when he reaches Phase 2.  This occurs the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:30.  The Counselors will reach out with reminders each month for those who qualify.  These visitations are led by skilled and licensed therapists.  The goal of these visitations is to begin the restoration process within family systems.

Family Visitation

6 families at a time will participate in a Friday night and all day Saturday workshop where they will learn how to support their loved one during the rest of his treatment stay and after he graduates from the program.  These are led by family therapists as well as play therapists for the children. These will occur the first weekend of every other month.  After attendance of a workshop, those 6 families qualify for family counseling bimonthly until graduation from the program.  The goal of these weekends is to begin a deeper work within families as God begins to redeem what He has allowed.

MON Families Weekend Workshop

Counseling sessions are offered to the families who have attended a MON Family weekend workshop.  These sessions are to follow up after the large amount of information families receive from the weekend workshop. The goal of these sessions is to take the new information learned and begin to get comfortable applying it before the client’s return home.
